“My paintings come from the truest part of me. They paint themselves when my mind is clear.” Chantal’s passion is the process of creating, but in order to get there she relies on her daily meditation/yoga practice.

As a student at Hampshire College, Chantal was able to study abroad in one of the countries most controversial student exchange programs, held in Cuba. Being fluent in the language Chantal was able to work closely with Cuban artists and in Cuban secondary schools teaching art. Chantal had the privilege to work with multi media artist Leandro Soto and Angel Ramirez on her final project Mas Alla.

After graduating from Hampshire college in 2002 with a BA in fine arts specializing in painting and Special education, Chantal moved to Havana, Cuba to direct the Hampshire College Cuba Exchange Program. During her stay in Havana she completed Sor Juana, a body of work that addressed her own identity. In 2005 Chantal seriously began her path in yoga and completed her first yoga teacher training lead by her cousin Anamargret Sanchez in Miami.   She continues her studies with her teacher Rod Stryker to become a dedicated Para Yoga teacher.

Her French language studies led her to her current body of work-- Avant. Chantal currently lives in Paris and is working on her next body of work, Pendant--a series focusing on life in France. She also is expanding her yoga teachings into Creative retreats and local community classes.
